Alongside Props, Preview enables you to add photorealistic people to your scenes for scale and dynamism. To access the controls press the Video/People button here on the shoot screen.

  • Press the button to bring up the Active People panel (close it by pressing the X in the upper right-hand corner).

  • Video people are activated and controlled by picture slot, so first, decide which picture slot you’d like to add a person to.

  • Identify the slot number on the menu and tick the box under the Active column. Then click on the Name box to reveal the options or cycle through them using the arrows under the Name column.

  • Adjust the position using position sliders. The press Preview to review the animated sequence.

  • To remove a video person, untick the Active box or cycle through the prop options until you reach None.

Artwork Video Playback is also controlled via Prop/Video Options.

The default setting for the video state is First Frame. This means that the first frame of the clip will appear as a placeholder on screen and will not play.

To make the video play, select Play in the drop down menu.

The video will automatically play when the shot starts. The next shot then will pick up automatically from the last frame played. You can also Restart the video, or select Pause to keep it static throughout the shot.

NB. If the shot is longer than the video clip, the video will loop back to the beginning when it finishes.

TOP TIP

If you want to have two video people looking at the same painting and standing next to each other, go to set up and add an extra slot on top (or right next to) your main artwork. Then navigate to Dimensions and make the extra slot 0 cm in height. This will make it invisible but still present on the slot list - enabling you to tick an “extra” Active box on the Active People list.
